CONGRATS TO EVAN IN ACHIEVING AN OSCAR NOMINATION WITH "SECRET OF KELLS". Trading FacesT.M. Film School launched it's first course in May 2006, for teenagers. The programme proved to be a great success. Each year the course grew in popularity and since 2008 the course is offered to both senior and junior students. Course BreakdownThis course focuses upon filming a short film on a shoe string budget! Lot's of fun ! Designed as an introductory course, suitable for beginners, the participants will collaborate to create, film and produce a short. Becoming the writers; actors; directors; first A.D.'s; camera people; sound experts; make up artists; wardrobe people - the workshops culminates with the finished product. This programme is a practical , hands on course, that allows the participants the opportunity to experience the business of film making from both 'in front of' and 'behind' the camera.
Acting for screen Highlighting techniques used, through a series of exercises. Establishing differences between screen and stage acting. Script writing Brainstorming, choosing main plot and theme, dramatic structure, character structure, writing scenes, writing dialogue, use of voiceover as narration or thought track through to finished script. Casting Opportunity to explore audition techniques that will give you the edge. As with any adventure, preparation is the key. An ability to Cold Read and play to the camera. An understanding of what constitutes a good resume and headshots Directing Direction basics - working with actors; working with crew - crew roles; assistant direction. Directing improvisational techniques; from script to screen; scene direction; conflict resolution. Creating calm and trusting your instinct! Editing The director will co-edit in conjunction with expert from the industry. General tips of the trade: Camera man and sound man from the industry will outline means of getting the best from available locations, light, camera, etc. Trading FacesT.M.
